Nuptial Mass Responsorial Psalm Selections

(RP-1) The Goodness of the Lord  (Psalm 33:12 and 18, 20-21, 22)

Please repeat after me:

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Happy the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he has chosen for his heritage.
But see how the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who rely on his love.

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Our soul awaits the Lord,
he is our help and shield;
our hearts rejoice in him,
we trust in his holy name.

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Lord, let your love rest on us
as our hope has rested in you.
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

(RP-2) Bless the Lord  (Psalm 34:2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9)

Please repeat after me:

I will bless the Lord at all times.
I will bless the Lord at all times.

My soul glories in the Lord
let the humble hear and rejoice.
Proclaim with me the greatness of the Lord,
together let is extol his name.

I will bless the Lord at all times.

I seek the Lord, and he answers me
and frees me from all my fears
Every face turned to him grows brighter
and is never ashamed.

I will bless the Lord at all times.

A cry goes up from the poor man,
and the Lord hears,
and helps him in all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord pitches camp
round those who fear him;
and he keeps them safe.

I will bless the Lord at all times.

How good the Lord is — only taste and see!
Happy the man who takes shelter in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy ones:
those who fear him want for nothing.

I will bless the Lord at all times.

(RP-3) The Lord is King  (Psalm 103:1-2, 8, 13, 17-18a)

Please repeat after me:

The Lord is kind and merciful.
The Lord is kind and merciful.

Bless the Lord, my soul,
bless his holy name, all that is in me!
Bless the Lord, my soul,
and remember all his kindnesses.

The Lord is kind and merciful.

The Lord is tender and compassionate,
slow to anger, most loving.
As tenderly as a father treats his children,
so the Lord treats those who fear him.

The Lord is kind and merciful.

Yet the Lord's love for those who fear him
lasts from all eternity forever,
like his goodness to their children's children
as long as they keep is covenant.

The Lord is kind and merciful.

(RP-4) Happy the Man  (Psalm 112:12, 3-4, 5-7a, 7bc-8, 9)

Please repeat after me:

Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.
Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.

Happy the man who fears the Lord
by joyfully keeping his commandments!
Children of such a man will be powers on the earth,
descendants of the upright will always be blessed.

Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.

There will be riches and wealth for his family
and his righteousness can never change.
For the upright he shines like a lamp in the dark,
he is merciful, tenderhearted, virtuous.

Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.

Interest is not charged by this good man,
he is honest in all his dealings.
Kept safe by virtue, he is ever steadfast,
and leaves an imperishable memory behind him;
with constant heart, and confidence in the Lord.

Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.

He need never fear bad news.
Steadfast in heart he overcomes his fears:
in the end he will triumph over his enemies.

Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.

Quick to be generous, he gives to the poor,
his righteousness can never change,
men such as this will always be honored.

Happy are those who do what the Lord commands.

(RP-5) Happy All Those  (Psalm 128: 1-2, 3, 4-)

Please repeat after me:
Happy are those who fear the Lord.
Happy are those who fear the Lord.

Happy, all those who fear the Lord
and follow in his paths.
You will eat what your hands have worked for,
happiness and prosperity will be yours.

Happy are those who fear the Lord.

Your wife; a fruitful vine
on the inner walls of your house.
Your sons: round your table
like shoots round an olive tree.

Happy are those who fear the Lord.

Such are the blessings that
fall on the man who fears the Lord.
May the Lord bless you from Zion
all the days of your life!

Happy are those who fear the Lord.

(RP-6) The Lord is Compassionate  (Psalm 145:8-9, 10, 15, 17-18)

Please repeat after me:

The Lord is compassionate to all his creatures.
The Lord is compassionate to all his creatures.

He, the Lord, is merciful, tenderhearted,
slow to anger, very loving,
and universally kind;
the Lord's tenderness
embraces all his creatures.

The Lord is compassionate to all his creatures.

Lord, all your creatures thank you,
and your faithful ones bless you.
Patiently all creatures look to you
to feed them throughout the year.

The Lord is compassionate to all his creatures.

Righteous in all that he does,
The Lord acts only out of love,
standing close to all who invoke him,
close to all who invoke the Lord faithfully.

The Lord is compassionate to all his creatures.

(RP-7) Praise the Lord  (Psalm 148:1-2, 3-4, 9-10, 11-12ab, 12c-14a)

Please repeat after me:

Let all praise the name of the Lord.
Let all praise the name of the Lord.

Let heaven praise the Lord:
praise him, heavenly heights,
praise him, all his angels,
praise him, all his armies!

Let all praise the name of the Lord.

Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, shining stars,
praise him, highest heavens,
and waters above the heavens!

Let all praise the name of the Lord.

Mountains and hills,
orchards and forests,
wild animals and farm animals,
snakes and birds.

Let all praise the name of the Lord.

All things on the earth and nations,
princes, all rules in the world,
young men and girls,
old people, and children too!

Let all praise the name of the Lord.

Let them all praise the name of the Lord,
for his name and no other is sublime,
transcending earth and heaven in majesty,
raising the fortunes of his people.

Let all praise the name of the Lord.
