Rehearsal Outline

REHEARSAL NOTE: Due to travel distances and other commitments I am NOT seldom available for rehearsals.  The venue does a great job with the basics and I lead you through the rest.

Rehearsals are a simple matter - the purpose for a rehearsal is to let the parents/attendants know where they will be standing, sitting, etc.  Because of distance and other commitments I don’t participate in rehearsals before the wedding day itself.  I will be happy to come an hour early to conduct a quick run through if needed. The venue coordinator will do the basics with you, just be assured your wedding day will move smoothly with or without a rehearsal.  Don't stress out about rehearsals. Two preliminary considerations should be addressed:

1. Remind Bridal Attendances to smile, breath, and walk to "Mississippi" so as not to marathon down aisle.

2. Assign/Ask some NOT in the wedding party and NOT a parent to run the rehearsal.

THE PLAN (Indicate Seating: Stage (Right/Left) Row, Seat: (SR,R1,S1)

The following is provided for those who want a rehearsal when a coordinator is not available.

Don't stress out about rehearsals. Two considerations should be addressed are:

1. Who walks with whom and in what order and

2. Who seats parents and grandparents

The Procedure:

  1. Assign/Ask someone in the wedding party and a parent to run the rehearsal.

  2. Set attendants in place where they will be standing once they have entered

  3. Set Bride Groom where they will be standing once Bride has entered.

  4. Set parents in positions where they will be seated once they have entered.

  5. Decide grooms’ men's hand position: hands in back, at side, or in front.

  6. Bride/Groom exit, followed by bridal party

  7. Rehearse entrance by lining everyone up in the appropriate order.
