Getting a Marriage LicenseA legal marriage requires a license from the appropriate agency. In most cases this is the county clerk's office but it may also be from another agency. This usually requires the couple to appear in person and provide identification and pay a fee. This varies among locations and you should contact the agency in which you are to be married for exact details.
Illinois Counties Each jurisdiction has its own licensing agency for marriage licenses. Usually this is the County Clerk's office and the license needs to be used in the county in which the marriage is to be conducted. Marriage licenses have an expiration date that is generally 60 days after issuance. Some also have a minimum 24 hour validity date before it can be used. Please check with the appropriate agency in your area for details.
Cook County IL
Couples must appear together at one of the Cook County Clerk's six locations. They must: * Fill out and sign a marriage license application. * Present valid identification with proof of age. * Pay a $30 fee (cash only).

REHEARSAL NOTE: Due to travel distances we are generally NOT available for rehearsals. Written instructions are provided so that the wedding party knows entrance, positioning and exiting procedures, the most important elements of a rehearsal.
Rehearsal Outline
Rehearsals are a simple matter - the purpose for a rehearsal is to let the parents/attendants know where they will be standing, sitting, etc.
Don't stress out about rehearsals. Two preliminary considerations should be addressed:
1. Remind Bridal Attendances to smile, breath, and walk to "Mississippi" so as not to marathon down aisle.
2. Assign/Ask some NOT in the wedding party and NOT a parent to run the rehearsal.
The Procedure:
1. Set attendants in place where they will be standing once they have entered.
2. Set Bride Groom where they will be standing once Bride has entered.
3. Set parents in positions where they will be seated once they have entered.
4. Decide grooms men's hand position: hands in back, at side, or in front fig-lead right over left or left over right.
5. Bride/Groom exit, followed by bridal party.
6. Then prepare to rehearse entrance by lining everyone up according to the schedule we discussed at our pre-nuptial conference:
